Your challenge is to get your reader to Open, Read and Respond to what you send, and in this post I’ll show you how to dramatically increase your results!

So here we go…

How To Stand Out In Their Crowded Inbox

“The things that make me different are the things that make me.” – Winnie The Pooh

There is a saying in advertising…there is no such thing as boring copy…only a boring copywriter!

The opposite is also true…interesting copy is usually written by an interesting copywriter *cough cough.
Anyways…moving on

The way to stand out in a crowded inbox is by adding value or write something that is personal in a fresh, new, and engaging way.

And here are the…

5 Secrets To Creating Magnetic Emails

Secret 1: Subject Lines Are Really Headlines In Disguise

If you don’t know by now…you should know that I’m big on headlines.
Why?

The right headline, said in the right way, to the right audience, makes 80% of your sale!

With emails, there is no difference so
Spend Maximum Time On Subject Lines!

Quick question…
Which emails do you usually open first?
Yup, it’s the ones from family, friends, and people who you know.
Why?

Because often they’re not trying to sell you anything, they are simple and don’t use industry “buzz words,” so avoid words like SALE, HELP etc.

Here are a few examples:

I just watched that Fifty Shades of Gray Movie…OMG! I liked the part when…

Meet me for burgers this Friday?

Woohoo, I got that promotion. Drinks on YOU!
And so on.

Just one final point on Subject Lines…and this is a BIGGY…

Don’t use “clickbait!”
What is clickbait?
When your subject line has nothing to do with your email. For instance…

Subject Line - Do you want to buy my car Jason, I need to get rid of it immediately…

Body Copy - Ok forget about buying my car…sign up for my webinar and buy my book today!…and oh yes, don’t forget to donate your kidney.

Secret 2: Let’s Get Personal…Personal!

As you may already know, always…always….alwaaaays, write like you’re having a conversation.

Here’s how you do it…

Address your reader by their name.

Refer to previous emails that you’ve sent them…or even better… if you can remember something they previously shared with you, like their daughter walking for the first time or, that holiday they enjoyed in Europe.

(This is not always possible but, it will REALLY show that you value them and listen)

Write like you’re talking to one person
…even though you might be sending out a bulk email.

Be direct…use the word YOU a lot!

Use a conversational tone…nobody wants to read your 3-Degrees-In-Advanced-English-Email.

Secret 3: Two Formulas To Rule The World!

These are scientifically proven ways to structure your emails to INCREASE reader engagement.

But the really cool part about these formulas is that you can adapt it to your email style.

Let’s start with… P.A.S

P.A.S
stands for…
P -
Pain/Problem
A -
Agitation
S -
Solution

Here’s how you’d use it…

Dear John

Pain/Problem - Are struggling…frustrated…even haunted…by the idea of writing an email that’s fresh, new, and engages your target audience like crazy?

Agitation - I know it’s hard to get started especially when you’re “drawing a blank,” staring at your computer screen, hoping…the words would just write themselves…and then there’s the added pressure, its due today!

Solution - But don’t worry, I’m here to help you. I’ve put together the “Ultimate Writer’s Block Starter Pack” containing formulas, templates, and power words just for you. Simply drop me an email and I’ll send it right away.

Kind Regards
Jason

And the other is…A.I.D.A
This is the “holy grail” of formulas when it comes to any form of advertising and
is a sure-fire way to boost your email engagement!

A.I.D.A
stands for

A - Attention
I - Interest
D- Desire
A- Action

Here’s how to use it…

Dear John

Attention - Do You want tons of NEW customers in 24hours?

Interest - Imagine being unable to keep up with the demand for your product or service.

Imagine rocking up at your place of business to find a line of people around the block, waiting to buy what you’re selling.

You know what that means right?
You’re going to need more staff, get a bigger building…and get an expensive accountant.

Desire - Yes John, what I’m about to tell you will allow you to run your business from a remote tropical island giving you all the free time…family time… and playtime you want…in only 5 weeks!

Action - Are you interested?
If so…contact me today, and I’ll show you how I can help you achieve your dreams…much much sooner!

Kind regards
Jason

Secret 4: Keep It Short…Keep It concise…Keep It Interesting

According to research, it would seem most people hate long emails.

Now, I don’t fully agree with those findings.

As I’ve said in previous blogs, I have read boring 5-word tweets…and I’ve read a 25-page email that kept me on the edge of my seat.

So my conclusion is….most people hate being BORED! But, for the sake of this point (with a pinch of salt)

Keep your emails short, to the point and interesting.

Secret 5: Be Useful

If you’re sending emails to stay in touch or to build a relationship i.e like a newsletter then, offer your reader something useful…this will REALLY get their attention.

It doesn’t matter what you’re going to offer your reader, make sure that they have NO REGRETS taking time out of their busy lives to read what you have to write…

Your reader must feel glad that they’ve opened, read, and responded to your email.

Bonus Tips

I know this has been a longer post than usual…more to digest but I hope it’s been a good meal…but in my opinion…no meal is complete without dessert!

So here are a few bonus tips to give your next email the extra edge…

- Don’t worry too much about how long a subject line should be or, what time of the day you should send your email, simply test and practice to see what’s best for your target audience.

- Add multiple Call-To-Actions throughout your messaging. Don’t assume your reader will read your whole email.

- Use P.S. to either repeat what you’re offering or to add urgency.

- Send your emails from a real person…rather than from a company. It’s more personal.

So, with your new-found knowledge, secrets, and tips…go ahead and write your “Super-Persuasive Email.”
I look forward to not deleting it.

Bye for now
